Clinical Audit

Home / Clinical Audit

For practices to run efficiently and safely they must implement essential quality assurance requirements and take steps to adopt national standards that promote best practice for infection control.

Audit is a very effective method used to test and monitor compliance with HSE requirements and national guidelines within the clinical governance framework. It will aid preparation for inspection with the Care Quality Commission, identifying deficiencies and gaps in policies and procedures.

Compliance Score

Following the audit a compliance score is generated based on conformance to standards.  We use the traffic light rating system of Red, Amber and Green (RAG) for colour coding each work or audit area.

A detailed action plan is devised following each audit to enable Managers and practice owners  to make the necessary changes required. Action plans will clearly highlight ‘essential’ and ‘best practice’ actions and specify timescales for implementing changes.
